James Earl Massey is Dean Emeritus of Anderson School of Theology in Anderson, Indiana. For fifty years he has been an extraordinary Christian communicator in the pulpit and the classroom, serving as Senior Pastor of the Metropolitan Church of God in Detroit (1954-1976), Missionary Educator in Jamaica (1964-1967), Campus Minister of Anderson University (1969--1977), speaker on the "Christian Brotherhood Hour" radio broadcast (1977-1982), Dean of the Chapel at Tuskegee University (1984-1989), and Dean of the Anderson School of Theology (1989-1995). Dr. Massey chronicles his life of service to God and the Church in order to:
"pay tribute to the grand heritage that informed me, and to the good persons who influenced me; to mention some of the individuals, groups, organizations, and institutions whose openness to me allowed, encouraged, and enhanced what I tried to do in response to my times; and to glorify God, who entrusted a life to me, and who granted timely gudiance as I sought to honor and trust."
