The Christ's Birthday Observance Offering
While on earth Christ taught, prayed, healed, served, and gave so that the world would be saved. The church continues to be the hand of Christ touching the world through ministries such as education, prayer, missions, and giving. During Christ's Birthday Observance, the church shares the story and reaches out with the love of Christ.
Pray and give abundantly so that ministries around the world will be touched, strengthened, and encouraged; in so doing, we can all reach out with the story of Christ.
What does the Christ's Birthday Observance Offering Support?
Church of God World Ministries Budget - 80%
Church of God Ministries frontline ministry mission/vision efforts that touch the world include CBH radio broadcasts in multiple languages; congregational health and growth initiatives; leadership development; communications and publishing of church school curriculum, Communion, and additional publishing resources; National Prayer Ministry; major events including the North American Convention and the International Youth Convention; family ministries to children, youth, and adults; Global Missions outreach and support services in 87 countries; disaster and relief response efforts; and multicultural ministries.
Endorsed Agencies such as the Board of Pensions and the church's colleges and universities--including: Anderson University and School of Theology, Mid-America Christian University, Warner Pacific College, Warner Southern University -- are committed to preparing leaders for the church and society. The Board of Pensions provides resources to introduce the church's pension plan to newly ordained ministers.
Christian Women Connection* Budget--20%
Christian Women Connection participates in the development of women's ministries internationally, sponsors training and leadership development for women in the United States and abroad, publishes resources and materials in English and Spanish, offers scholarships and internships for female students, sponsors a grant to support the ministry of the In Service Training Institute, cultivates and supports young women's ministries, and supports the church through worldwide projects.
Please remit your congregation's Christ's Birthday Offering by January 10 to your Christian Women Connection* State Treaurer. They will send it to the national offices of Women of the Church of God. Following this procedure will ensure that your state has a record of your congregation's offering and your church will receive Church of God World Ministries giving credit.
